Johnson Controls joins other corporations in signing Copenhagen Communiqué to address climate change

Sept. 24, 2009 -- Milwaukee, Wisconsin -- This week, Steve Roell, chairman, president and chief executive officer, Johnson Controls, signed the Copenhagen Communiqué, which calls on world leaders to agree to “an ambitious, robust and equitable global deal on climate change.”

The Copenhagen Communiqué was launched this week, in conjunction with the United Nations Summit on Climate Change taking place in New York City, and in advance of the Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change taking place in December. Over 600 companies from more than 60 countries have signed the Communiqué, a document that has generated international support for its mission to “respond credibly to the scale and urgency of the crisis facing the world today.”

"As a global leader in energy efficient solutions for buildings, hybrid technology and automotive interiors, Johnson Controls is uniquely positioned to help our customers reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions,” said Roell. “We are proud to join other corporations around the world who share a common focus on the environment."
