Johnson Controls to Introduce New Fan Gun
New product will serve as catalyst to snow making product line expansion

CENTENNIAL, CO, August 2, 2007 - Johnson Controls, the global leader in creating smart environments, today announced that it will soon introduce a new fan gun for use in creation of trail-quality snow. The gun, currently going through final testing and expected to be on the market during the second half of the 2007-2008 snowmaking season, represents an enhanced and expanded snowmaking product line.

“We are constantly pursuing ways in which to match our products to our customers’ snowmaking needs,” said Jim Horton, General Manager of the Johnson Controls Snow products group. “Our experience showed us that the market was ready for enhancements to the current fan guns available, and we decided to meet that need with a new product offering.”

The new Johnson Controls fan gun product design has a patented wing that protrudes into the center of the rings. The gun operates either manually or automatically, and is available in either a 10 HP or a 20 HP model.

“The introduction of this new fan gun represents another step in the rebuilding of the brand formerly known as York,” Horton added. “The synergies achieved by combining Johnson Controls resources, products and solutions, with the quality products and services of York, now provide ski resorts with an opportunity to vastly maximize their revenue and decrease their costs.”

York International was acquired by Johnson Controls in January 2005. The acquisition gave the York snow products group the resources and backing of a $32 billion multi-national corporation. With a seasoned group that knows the ski business and a parent company with 120 years of expertise in the energy supply and demand business, Johnson Controls is well positioned to be a ski resorts’ energy management partner.
